Job Summary

The Traveling Teaching Assistant will help teach Einstein’s Workshop classes at after school programs in the Greater Boston Area to students in grades K-8. This job starts as a part-time TA but can easily add weekend hours and can potentially grow to an Instructor position for qualified applicants.

Responsibilities
  • The Traveling Teaching Assistant will help teach Einstein’s Workshop classes at after school programs in the Greater Boston Area to students in grades K-8. This job starts as a part-time TA but can easily add weekend hours and can potentially grow to an Instructor position for qualified applicants.
  • Great job for college students, retirees, part-time workers looking to ease back into the workforce, or particularly qualified high school students.
  • Locations include Andover, Arlington, Boston, Beverly, Burlington, Cambridge, Lexington, Needham, Newton.
  • Starting at 2-10 hours per week. Can grow over time, especially in the summer when it can be a full-time job if desired.
  • Typical shifts are as soon as school ends at the location for 1.5-2 hours (usually starting around 3-4pm).
  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • Teachers and teaching assistants are required to move around the classroom to engage with students so this job requires being able to stand and move around for at least an hour and fifteen minutes without resting.
  • Experience in STEM related fields is helpful but we will train the right person with our tools and curriculum!
Hours and Logistics
  • During the school year, Einstein’s Workshop traveling Teaching Assistants work at schools and other locations in Andover, Arlington, Boston, Cambridge, Concord Lexington, Newton, and other locations  immediately after school hours.
  • During the summer, camps run Mondays-Fridays at various locations in the same towns listed above.
  • Total hours vary from 4-10 hours/week during the school year and 20-40 hours/week during the summer, depending on your availability and preferences.
Requirements
  • You love working with kids.
  • You are excited about math, science, and technology.
  • You think LEGO, laser cutters, 3D printers, and robots are cool.
  • You are at least 16 years old.
  • Instructors and teaching assistants are required to move around the classroom to engage with students so this job requires being able to stand and move around for at least an hour and fifteen minutes without resting.
  • You have the ability to lift and move materials, up to 20 pounds.
  • Must have reliable transportation.
Necessary Skills

Experience working with kids.
