The Math Club is a fun introduction to the joy of mathematical problem solving for all skill levels, using the Elementary and Middle School Math Olympiads (MOEMS) as a motivator. For non-competitive mathletes, MOEMS is a good source of interesting math problems that aren’t typically encountered in school. Each session begins with students choosing to explore problems in teams, alone, or in consultation with instructors or TAs. Students then have the option to present solutions, teaching and learning from each other, and also honing their ability to explain mathematical concepts. Our instructors also introduce a few of their favorite topics to give novel insights into mathematics or new problem/puzzle solving techniques.
